What Is Profhilo®
Profhilo® is an injectable anti-aging treatment made from hyaluronic acid (HA). It is a product that can bio-stimulate four types of collagen, elastin, and proliferate adipocytes (fat) stem cells to address these anti-aging issues naturally and effectively. The slow release of HA by Profhilo results in natural bio-remodeling of the skin and improved skin quality lasting for up to six months.

How Does Profhilo® Work
Profhilo® boasts one of the highest concentrations of HA in the market (64mg / 2ml), which allows it to deeply boost the hydration of the skin and reverse aging and sagging skin, especially in the face, neck and hands with little-to-no downtime.
HA is hydrophilic which means that it draws and retains water in your body, thereby acting as a hydrator rather than a filler that only fills in wrinkles and plumps the skin temporarily.
Within 3-5 days, you can witness the firsthand transformation of tired and dull-looking skin to firm and luminous skin.

Profhilo® VS Fillers VS Skin Booster
Profhilo® is neither a filler nor a skin booster. Lesser sessions are required and it does more than just hydration.
Who Is Suitable For Profhilo Treatments
Profhilo® is suitable for both men and women with mild to moderate signs of aging skin. It is highly recommended for patients aged 30-50 years who are looking for an effective method to hydrate their skin and improve skin laxity, elasticity, and fine lines. Generally, those above 25 years old can also benefit from this treatment.
For safety reasons, Profhilo® is not recommended for patients who have/are:
Immunocompromised
Allergic to product ingredients
Have any infected skin area, such as acne or cold sores
Pregnant or breastfeeding women
The Procedure
Before treatment
An initial consultation will be done for all new patients to clinically assess your medical history. We will also give a full explanation of the procedure, clinical and aesthetic benefits, risks, aftercare, and consent process for you to make an informed decision.
The actual treatment itself will take approximately 30 minutes depending on the number of areas treated and whether a local anesthetic is required.
During treatment
After cleaning and preparing your skin, you will receive a total of 10 subcutaneous injections of Profhilo® using the Bio Aesthetic Points (BAP) injection technique. The five key points on the face include the area next to the ears, the nasolabial fold (laughter lines near the mouth), chin, under the eyes, and top of the cheeks.
After injection, it disperses quickly beneath the skin to improve hydration without any need for a massage or risk of leaving lumps or nodules. However, if they are visible it typically dissipates within 24 hours as the product absorbs into your skin.
After treatment
The results of the Profhilo® treatment will not be properly seen until four weeks after the second treatment. A follow-up appointment will ensure that there are no complications.
What To Expect From The Treatment
Profhilo® usually works to smooth and hydrate the skin from the very first treatment but results are more prominent after the second treatment as Profhilo® takes time to work. By having 2-3 treatment sessions, it allows the Profhilo® to remain in the skin for a longer time, resulting in a longer-lasting effect.
It takes time to stimulate new collagen and elastin production to naturally improve the plumpness, firmness and elasticity of the skin. The results will usually last up to six months post-treatment and a repeat cycle is recommended once the initial cycle is over.
Risks And Side Effects
With all non-surgical aesthetic treatments, there is a risk of side effects, such as minor bruising or swelling at the injection sites. However, these usually do not occur and disappear quickly when they do (within 24 hours).
